Clearing Jams from the Top Cover Area:
Open the top cover.
Remove the toner cartridge. WARNING - Avoid touching the adjacent fusing area. It may be HOT.
Lift Handle 2 and then lift Plate 3 to remove any paper that may be hidden.
Remove any paper in this area by pulling it straight up and out of the printer.
Be sure to remove all pieces of torn paper.
Replace the toner cartridge and close the top cover.
